System Explorer

It appears that there are no available functions for
the "System Explorer" other than access to "Help" files
which do not specify how to use the S.E.?????

Can I ask you to post a bit of diagnostic information?

Open Microsoft Antispyware, and go to Help,About......., and click on the
Diagnostics button.

Right click the contents of the window that comes up, and choose Select All,
and then right-click and choose Copy.

Paste the result in a reply to this thread.

As a first suggestion, I would try Start, control panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change, update

This will do a repair installation, which may take care of the problem.
