System Default Printer that I select will changes after every rest

Every time I boot up my new laptop computer, the Default Printer I had set in
my last sesson is reset to something else. This printer is a screen capture
program "SnagIt 8" that will take the print output of a program and save it
as a file like a *.pdf . The printer I want as the defalt printer is a hp
deskjet 6127 connected by USB to my docking station. The printer is also
connected to a LAN. My Laptop is an IBM ThinkPad T43 running WIN XP Pro sp2.
My User Name has Administrator access on this computer. This computer is
loaded with and connected to all the same things my past computer was. I
never had issues with the default printer setting changing on it. Anybody
have ideas why this may be happening?

If I understand your situation correctly (?), it looks like SnagIt is the
culprit.
Go to: Start>Run>type MSCONFIG and press OK. Click the Startup tab and
see if SnagIt is listed and uncheck it>click Apply>Close>reboot.

I found what it was, an IBM network connection program was keeping profiles
of how I would connect in different location. I did not even know it was
installed, or was the profile manager. It had a defalt printer setting, and
because snagit was the first printer installed on the computer, it was add to
all new profiles. Once it was changed, no new problems.
