system crashes or freeze

when i run any dvd converter it only runs for about 5 10 min then every one
that i have tried freezes then i have to power down then restart this only
started about 6 months ago my main converter is avs and even thet are lost.
can any body help
 
Try opening event viewer,get more specific details as to whats going on.
