Hello Friends,
I want to know what is the use of SYSPREP utility.
All the manuals/documentation/technet tell us that u need run sysprep before
creating a image. It prepares system for installation.
What does it do in actual?
Suppose If I donot run Sysprep before making an image, what will be the
result.

Thanks in advance
KL

With sysprep you can automate some of the manual entries that you would
normally have to make when installing XP - for instance, if you have a
volume XP license, you can get sysprep to automatically enter the license
code when the cloned PC boots up initially.

Also, it will give the cloned PC a new SID, so that all your PCs don't have
the same SID, which would make networking them a real problem.

There's more, too, but that's just a sample.
