how can i set an xp pro computer so that it updates its clock continuously
to a time server. i know that i have done it before, but i can not remember
how. When I go into the Date and Time window....I do not have a "Internet
Time" tab. if it were there, it would be easy.

I look forward to hearing back.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters

Edit the NTPServer key to point to a time server like tick.usno.navy.mil or
any of the time servers from www.nist.gov

huh.....I did what you said and rebooted the machine....but the time is
still off. is there something else that needs to be done? also, i just
eliminated everything that was in that registry key....was I supposed to
leave any of it there before adding the time server address?

Try this:

windows logo key + r, paste
ms-its:C:\WINDOWS\Help\datetime.chm::/windows_date_IT_overview.htm
into the window, ok, follow instructions.
