Synchronized Website Storage

When I synchronize a website to make the site available for offline viewing where are the data files stored? My website is hosted remotely but I want to make it available locally to improve performance. I would like to synchronize the website to a specific location on our Windows 2000 Server and develop a local link to access it locally.
