Switching modem from COM3 to COM1

Disable motherboard COM1 in BIOS and delete the modem in XP. Reboot and XP
should place it on COM1, if it is an internal model.

Go to control panel, click on modems and then properties. Should help you
out.

goto control panel,system properties,hardware,device
manager, double click Modems, right click modems, click
properties, click advanced,click advanced port
settings, and change the com port setting from there.

BUT CHANGING THE PORT FROM COM3 TO COM1 PROBABLY WILL NOT
WORK AS COM 3 IS A PCI SLOT MODEM AND COM 1 IS A 'D'
CONNECTION FOR AN EXTERNAL MODEM AND NOT AN INTERNAL MODEM
