Switching from AC Power do Battery Power

Can anybody answer why is that switching from AC Power to Battery Power
disconnects my Internet connection? How can I avoid this ?

I have a Toshiba Laptop 1400 series.

What kind of Internet connection do you have? Modem? USB to cable modem/DSL
modem? Ethernet to a router?

Thanks for helping out. I use a local area connection (Intel(R) PRO/100 M
Mobile Connection). It's a high speed internet connection through my
telephone line, made available by the local telephone company, Telefonica.

OK - I've never used one of those - have you checked Intel support to see if
there are any answers? Also, what do your event logs say?
