I had this problem for couple of years. Finally I had to RE-INSTALL my XP because I was having someother problems. After I reinstalled XP with a new admin username I installed my other programs one by one over a period of 1 week just to see which one is causing the problem. So far I don't even see HELPSVC.EXE program running in the processes. Now with 256MB RAM I am not having any problem.

The only solution to fix this problem is to reinstall XP.
