XP sp2.
When using Windows Task Manager | Performance, svchost.exe has around 90% of
the CPU resources with a PID of 860. In a command prompt I type tasklist
/SVC and find the Services corresponding to the PID of 860 and get the
following list:-
svchost.exe 860 AudioSrv, BITS, Browser, CryptSvc, Dhcp,
dmserver, ERSvc, EventSystem,
FastUserSwitchingCompatibility, helpsvc,
Irmon, lanmanserver, lanmanworkstation,
Netman, Nla, RasMan, Schedule, seclogon,
SENS, SharedAccess, ShellHWDetection,
srservice, TapiSrv, Themes, TrkWks,
W32Time,
winmgmt, wscsvc, wuauserv
How can I narrow it down to find the service which is eating all the CPU
resources, and how do I fix it?
