On bootup one of my notebooks flashes a message about memory having changed
and the suspend-to-disk file and directs me to the help center for more
information but the help center doesn't find any match for "suspend-to-disk".
Could someone tell me where to find information about this?

Hi, Bert:

It actually happens on two notebooks, one is a Dell Inspiron 3500, the other
a 7500

Suspend to Disk is a BIOS implementation of "Hibernate". It creates a
Disk module to write out the system's Memory state. On some PCs the
Suspend to disk area is actually a Partition on the drive. XP performs
this type operation using a file Hiberfil.Sys. It's doubtful you would want
both active on the same notebook. Many times you can disable the
Suspend to disk in the BIOS setup of the notebook.
