Hi
When I shut windows XP down, the notebook does only wake up after
pressing the power switch.
When I hibernate windows, the next time I open the lid, the notebook
DOES wake up however.
I am looking for a way to prevent this. there is no option in the bios
for it.
After hibernation the bios welcome screen does not display, and I
cannot enter the bios.
My grub bootmenu is accessible however, and I can boot linux, so I am
certain that windows did not just suspend to ram.
Nevertheless. after I remove the battery for a short time (and put it
back in), opening the lid will NOT wake up the notebook and the bios
screen will appear at the next power up.
I am aware of the differences between hibernate and suspend. I am
certain that I choose hibernate each time, and that windows is indeed
writing the content of the ram to disk, and not consuming any power
while it is switched of.
I am not using Vista with its combinated suspend/hibernate option
Normally the notebook should not even know that I hibernated windows
instead of shutting it down. Somehow it does. Can anyone solve this
mistery?
And can anyone tell me how to stop it?
