Shutdown on lid close

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell laptop (Inspiron 6400) with dual boot
with Debian Linux.

The power options on lid close only have "do nothing", "suspend",
"hibernate". I would like the system to shutdown on lid close.

Is there any way to add the shutdown option in the power settings?

I understand that Vista provides this option. The BIOS in my system is
compatible with Vista.

I know it is not an option with XP. I was hoping for a registry entry or
some other method to activate that option.
Since Vista can do it and this system has the same BIOS capabilities as
a Vista system, there should be some way to use the capability.

In my experience, there is no secret registry option or setting that
can be enabled to give you what you need. Vista is not XP. The reason
that XP does not have this feature is perhaps by design and not
because MS is hiding it from users.
