I'm capturing using XP Movie Maker, and IEEE 1394 6-4pin. Works fine in
capture mode. But, not the reverse. I'd like to take a look at driver
solutions you folks are using.

When I turn the camcorder on "DVin" mode, XP senses the device and loads
a Video Capture Driver.

Seems the driver is part of MM and conflicts with the driver using "DV in"
mode.

Which drivers are other folks using for Video Capture?

To find the driver:
Control Panel/System/Hardware (TAB) / Device Manager / + Sound and Video
Driver should be listed. R-Click Properties

Which software does it come with?
Have you tried reverse transfers back to the DV?

Hello there,

Many of us do reverse transfer (Back to the camera) Its only possible if the
camera has a DV-IN capability. There are quite a few that do not. To send a
file back to your camera MM must first create the file to be transferred. The
format of this file is DV-AVI. After the file has been created the transfer
begins.

It is possible and some find preferable, to create the DV-AVI file without
sending it to Movie Maker. They then use a program called WinDV. This program
has just two functions...to capture or send back DV-AVI quality video. A link
for direct download is available on my web site.

If you could give some detail about camera make and model together with a
description of exactly what it is that does not work I am sure we will be able
to help

Hello John,
This is Rino and I have no problem using WinDV to capture into DV-AVI then I would like to edit it first before I reverse transfer
to camera. My real problem is how I can Import all at once the DV-AVI files into MM2 Collection folder. I can only Import one file
at a time? TIA, Rino
