I am curious about how things work with the mandatory keys
for operating systems. eg. Its the year 2012 and I try to
install Windows XP ( no longer in any support phase by
Microsoft ) onto my computer. I enter my product code
(after all I am a legitimate owner of the licence ) and it
wants the activation keys from Microsoft so it won't
expire in 30 days. Will microsoft be still supply
activation keys? or will I be told to upgrade my software?
When will microsoft stop supplying activations on older
products if ever???

As far as I know nothing definitive has been said on that.
Supposedly it has been said that at that time, Microsoft will
create/release a permanent fix for activation.

Something to think about but not worry a whole lot about now.
