Sun Java

I am trying to allow JAVA on my computer but I cannot locate Java VM (under
custom level) or Java Sun (under advanced). I have an XP and I am a new
user. HOW do I fix where I can activate JAVA? (Below are the directions I
received when I do my AOL computer check up so that JAVA can be activated)

For Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and 6.0

1. Open the Internet [Web] Options window.
2. Click the Security tab, then click Custom Level.
3. Under Java VM, select High Safety, then click OK.
4. Click the Advanced tab on the Internet Options window, under Java
Sun select Use Java...for applets.
5. Click OK to confirm your changes.

Go to www.java.com and download it.

I have no comment on your directions from AOL.

Microsoft stopped including Microsoft Java VM in Windows XP after the
initial release due to legal actions by Sun.

You can download Sun Java from: http://www.java.com/ . When I installed the
Sun Java, the installation program configured Internet Explorer 6 to use the
Sun Java vice the Microsoft VM which I had from the initial release of
Windows XP.
