Suggestion: Tray icon for Windows Defender

E

Eric

I actually like the tray icon hidden but there is one change I like to
suggest. When Windows Defender does a Full System Scan or a Quick scan to
have the tray icon to be displayed. The reason why I'm suggesting this is
because when I listen to music it sorta like skips (or something like that).
Since there is no tray icon I don't know what's going on but recently I
figured out it had to be one of the scheduled scans for Windows Defender.

I know in the future there is a possiblity to have the tray icon to be
displayed. I like it hidden but I think it should be displayed not only on
users attention but also on scans.

Then when the scan is finished to make it disappear.

Thanks--I like this, as well.
I'm not sure I'd leave it turned on, particularly if I did full scans, but
I'm going with quickscans on nearly everything.

I also like Eric's suggestion. I'll go further. Whenever, WD does an
automated scan, system scan, or custom scan, I would like to see the icon.
And when the cursor hovers over the tray icon, show "scan in progress" as the
tooltip. Have pity on those of us too poor to buy dual core processors.

I'd actually LIKE to see the icon all the time. In general, I don't like
system tray icons and have done everything I can to get rid of most of them.

But I like the assuranace that Norton Antivirus and Windows Defender are
actually working, so those are the only two I really want to see.

My dad also contacted me the other day and said "I don't think this new
thing is working because the icon in the corner is gone."

So, please give users the CHOICE of having it on all the time, off all the
time, or on only when it's doing scans and updates.

THANKS!
