Sudden blue screen an shutdown

B

bill

my laptop has suddenly developed "blue screen of death" and it happens too
quickly to record the error.
no new software or hardware added recently.Thought the backlight on the
screen had failed after as I had a blank screen but after connection to
a separate screen and doing a system restore my screen is ok.working ok at
the moment but every so often after shutdown the "Blue" returns....
Ran a scan in safe mode and zilch...

Any help or advise greatly appreciated.Thanks.

In Control Panel choose Problem Reports and Solutions (type problem in
Start's searchbox), go to Problem History, right click your error and choose
Check For Solution. You can also examine the details.

In Administrative Tools choose Reliability and Performance Monitor and
choose MonitoringTools then Reliability Monitor (type Reliability in search
on Start) . This list is a chart of software installs, uninstalls, Windows
updates, and crashes by date. See if your crashes started happening after
you installed or uninstalled something.

The problem is "Memory Management" but too fast to get the exact code.

Did you or do you have the Cerr Viewer installed.
If you do then go to Add\Remove and uninstall it A.S.A.P. The viewer is not
compatible with Vista. What you can do after is to install it in the Virtual XP
environment and then use it from there.

Or contact the Washington University in St Louis (School of Medicine) where this
software was developed and ask them where they stand with an Upgrade for it to run
in Vista or even Win7

BTW. This is what Cerr is now

Source-code version: Add all CERR files and folders to matlab-path. Then, invoke
CERR by typing 'CERR' in command line. Then, click the 'Viewer' button to launch
viewer. (ii) Compiled version: After installing the run-time libraries, run
CERR.exe. Then, click the 'Viewer' button to launch viewer.

Do you need that program?

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/capuserv.exe-19763.html

You sure that it's not malware? Maybe a XP version has supplanted the
Vista version, which is now causing the blue-screen.
