Windows 7 X64does not update clock

E

Edward W. Thompson

Yesterday the UK time changed by one hour (back) to standard time. The
clock on my machine (Win 7 x64 did not automatically update, as in previous
versions. Anyone else having this glitch? The curious thing is a notice at
the clock acknowledges the change of time and advises the clock was
corrected, which it wasn't :-(.

Win 7 64bit Home Premium changed the clock on this m/c without any
problems back to standard time.

Is your computer's Regional settings set to the U.K.? Maybe it has the U.S.
set. Just a thought.

I don't know if it is true of your time zone, but my time zone (offset
from GMT) has several entries in Windows; some have daylight savings
time defined, some do not.

On my copy there's a checkbox for ""Automatically adjust clock for Daylight

The probability is that you are correct and the 'check box' isn't checked
but where is it! The check box asking 'Notify me when clock changes' is
checked but that is the sole check box I can find. The 'help' menu
certainly advises to ensure the check box for automatically adjusting the
clock is checked but again I can't find this box. I assume there is another
check box. I have entered 'Daylight Saving' in the help box but that simply
directs me to the page that allows time to be adjusted, no sign of box
'Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time".

Note I am using Win7 Ultimate x64.

When you go to change the time, clicking the "Change time zone" button will
take you to that menu. There is where the box to check for "Automatically
adjust clock for daylight Saving Time" is located.

Thank you. However, I find that the check box to adjust clock for daylight
saving is checked. I guess why my system didn't update, although notified
me to say it had, will remain a mystery.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread.
