Subject: File hosting (again)

I posted a question about this not long ago. An interesting URL:

http://www.liewcf.com/blog/archives/2005/07/rapidshare-free-unlimited-
file-hosting/

None of the services exactly meets my needs. The main problem is that I
want to keep files for a long time, even if not downloaded frequently
(if I forget to do routine downloads, the files are deleted; I can
upload again, but the URLs and their tinyurl versions change)

I'm not too concerned about the service being free, but don't expect to
pay much for 1MB of storage.

- I must be able to upload files whenever I want.

- If my files are associated with a site, users should be able to log
onto the site to download files, but without being able to upload (this
isn't an issue if files are uploaded individually, with a new URL for
each).

- Only users to whom I give a URL, or password, etc., can routinely
download files. I'm not worried of others can stumble upon site, but
they're not intended for the public at large.

- Files should never expire, or should expire after many months, even if
not downloaded. (This seems to be the killer requirement).
Alternatively, it should be possible to replace expired files, keeping
the same URL.

- Little storage is required (a few hundred kb at the moment).

Best wishes,

Send me an e-mail and I'll setup some space for you ... (the only
requirement I have is that the files are legal)

Many thanks indeed. At the moment I have two files of 200kB total, as
legal and safe as can be, relevant only to clients of mine -- one is a
Windows EXE which just allows them to make a remote support connection
to me. The files aren't highly confidential, but I don't want to post
them in a totally public place. My intention is that they just sit there
forever until I ask someone to download from a URL or name & password I
supply, at the moment an infrequent occurrence.

I didn't see an email address in your posting; if you'd like to let me
have one I'll use it, else I'll use an appropriate "contact us" option
from your website.

Thanks again,
