How come on some machines, especially laptops and mpeg movie on CD stutters
to open, yet on the same machines if you come back to the movie slide it
plays perfectly.
There is a blank slide before the movie slide set with zero timing to go to
the movie slide.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

You may need to adjust your hardware acceleration. Check this out and let me
know how it works.

How to set graphics hardware ...This is by design, in order to minimize the
chance of video hardware and driver errors. However, you or some other user
may have enabled this feature. ...

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. This mainly helps with using projectors, but no
help in this instance. Some CDs with m-peg1 run straight away, others
stutter to start and then run smoothly. This is what is puzzling me. Why
only some m-pegs do and others don't
(the perameters of the m-pegs are all the same, ie. created using same
programme, fps, bit rate etc. Why when stutters and run at first, but
returning to the same slide this problem does not happen. The CDs are
auto-run Cds and use ppviewer
to run the presentation.

Ramin,
There is a blank slide before the movie slide set with zero timing to go to
the movie slide.
Try putting this slide before the movie
Why when stutters and run at first, but
returning to the same slide this problem does not happen.
The slide is 'cached' by then, hence it plays smoothly.

The less you give powerpoint to do the better.
