I cannot get my Palm to hot-sync. Everyting I try it tells me another
application is using the port. Okay, I am stupid when it comes to all this;
can read directions, but if can't find what it tell me I don't know what to
do.

I unplugged my printer, my modem for DSL, I have quit McAfee and anything
else I had on the bar. I have tried every USB port I have. I keep getting
the same message.

The last thing I printed off said to disable the conflicting device...how do
I know what the conflicting device is and I have moved the cable to every
USB connections but is that the same as a "different com port".

So, if someone could just tell me my next step; would appreciate it.

Thank you,

maybe its your firewall that
is not allowing the transfer of
data between the pc and the palm.

basically, the palm backups up
to the pc into the palm folder.

then if you have associated
press news subscription, then
the palm will sync to the web
server via your pc (if connected
to the web)

if the hotsnyc icon appears in
the task bar, then right click on
it and select usb, this will connect
the pc to palm. All else is software based
sncronization.

it might be that the modem or
network option is selected, but
these are in use by the pc and
wouldn't work for a usb link to
the palm anyways.....
