Stupid Files

Hey, How do i permanently delete those files that come with my computer that
do nothing but sit on my display?? if you delete them upon restart the are
there again
 
What files are you talking about. You need to list them. Are you talking
about programs that open with windows or shotcuts on the desktop.

They are Compaq files that appear o the desktop - 'ISP offers' 'Compaq Help',
ect - these are files i have never used and have had my pc for 3-4 years -
they just have plain crap in them - useless
 
I dont know how compaq setup their computers but I would see if there is a
compaq configuration program and see if you can disable them via that. If
not go to start, run type msconfig, startup tab and see if you can remove
ticks from the start up items you dont want running. Reboot and repost with
results.
