downloaded program to download manager, opened completed exe file from mgr while still on line , exe started but stopped midway - ok ... go off line ... open 'my downloads' and start exe from there hoping to overwrite previous ...nope..
so power down , reboot ... nope , it's a laptop with battery backup. other than taking battery out of board,are there any other solutions? program stars where it left off STUCK

It is rather hard to tell exactly what your situation is because your
post is so hard to read. However, see if you can get into Safe Mode and
do a System Restore to before you did whatever it was you did. If you
need more help after trying that, please repost. Try and make your post
as descriptive as possible, using complete sentences so that people
trying to assist you have a clear picture of your computer and the
problem. Please include the name of the program you tried to download.
If you are using a third-party download manager, give us the name of
that also.
