Streaming Video Problem

Just recently I've had trouble with two sites that I've had no problems with
in the past. When I bring up CNN Pipeline now I get no video at all. (I'm
waiting to hear from CNN about this. It works fine on another computer on my
home network.) On another site I get the message " npdsplay Can not create
DirectShow Player". On other sites, I have no problem. A week or so ago I
had trouble installing the new Windows validation tool. The Microsoft
technician that helped me solve the problem said that some of the permissions
on my system needed changing so she had me run a program called "reset.cmd".
Could that have affected my streaming video in anyway?

For viewing web video thru WMP,open the player,tools,options,locate the
file types tab,select all.Also,on the 1st page,make sure the "connect to the
internet" is checked.

Thanks for your response, Andrew. The items you mentioned are all checked
but the problem persists. Obviously something else is not quite right on
this computer.
