Strange problem with the "My Documents" folder

R

Rebel

When I open Windows Explorer, it defaults to opening "My Documents". I can
see all the sub-folders in the right pane, but the left pane just shows My
Documents without the "+" sign to expand the folders in the left pane. When
I double-click on any folder in the right pane, that folder then appears in
the left pane (along with My Documents), and the "+" sign also appears. I
can then navigate through the folders from the left pane.

This problem just started all of a sudden. I didn't make any changes to my
system except for the normal Windows updates.

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jon

Jon,

How may sub-folders are present under "My Documents"?

I just visited the links you included. I already have my organized, but
I'll try to get the other folders down to 100 or less.

thanks!

Right now there are 140 subfolders, not including sub-sub folders.

Sorry, I meant to say I already have My Music organized. At any rate, I
reduced the number of sub-folders and the problem is fixed. It's kind of
like the root directory limitation from the old DOS days. ;)

Thanks for your help!
