Strange file

Every now and again, a strange file appears on my desktop. It's named ~

That's it.........just ~

Looking inside it, it's just a load of code.
Any ideas?

Hi Phillip,
This was a problem introduced with some recent updates (331923 and 330994).
It's created when you open or alter members in your Outlook Express address
book. You can safely just delete the ~ file. Microsoft is aware there is a
problem and are working on it.
