Strange Connection Problems

I have a laptop running windows xp with service pack 2.
This can be connected to the internet in one of three
ways. These are;

1) Ethernet connection to a modem with broadband
2) USB connection to a different modem with broadband
3) Bluetooth connection through GPRS

The problem occurs after a couple on minutes of either
connecting to the internet or email. The computer will
come up with the message server not found. The router
however still has connection to the internet, as the
problem can be resolved by loging off of windows and
loging back in. The connection will then stay again for a
few minutes. This happens on all the connections.

The strange part is however if the connection has been
lost in windows, then you can go into the command prompt
and still ping websites. But in windows it comes up with
server not found.

When this happens it is also not possible to connect to
the router, it comes up with the same message server not
found, except in the command prompt where it still works.

I tried reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling
windows, however the problem still persists.

When this curious problem happens, please provide exact symptoms:

From a command window:
1) Ping www.yahoo.com.
2) Ping 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

From your browser:
3) Browse www.yahoo.com.
4) Browse 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

Please provide ipconfig information for the computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.
