Strange "broken fingerprint" popup

My boss just got a new computer with Vista, and he keeps getting a popup that
looks like a broken fingerprint and indicates "poor quality." Is there a way
to disable the constant popups?

Contact the manufacturer of the new computer
and ask them for some troubleshooting advice.

sounds like there is a finger print reader on that pc. have him log in
with a password, access the fingerprint reader software and redo his
fingerprints. a couple of times i got crazy glue on my fingers, and
despite my best cleaning efforts, the scanner could not recognized my
fingerprints.

Perhaps his new computer keyboard has a fingerprint reader included. If so
and he touches it it will try to read his fingerprint, not see it in the
data base, and report a bad fingerprint.

Have him register his fingerprint or have him not touch the reader.

(on some keyboards this is a small metal bar about a 1/2 inch wide that you
slide your finger across, he might think it is for scrolling the screen for
instance).
