SP1 and Fingerprint Scanner

I just installed SP1 on my Sony Vaio laptop (Vista Business Edition) and
everything is working right.. except the fingerprint scanner.

I can no longer "single swipe" a fingerprint to get me past BIOS AND into
Windows. It always stops at the Windows Login screen, forcing me to click a
username and swipe again (or manually type in domain password).

In Protector Suite QL Control Center, I verified the following items are
checked: "Allow to bypass windows login" and "allow power on security single
sign-on" .

I upgraded to latest version of Protector Suite QL (5.80) and device driver
for the UPEK biometric scanner (1.9.2.111) - no difference.

Anyone else have this issues? I could single-swipe to login to BIOS and
Windows before the SP1 upgrade.

look at the related thread "UPEK driver on my system..." in this
newsgroup. the update seems to have worked for David.

If you mean me, the updated driver only gives me access to SP1 in
Windows Update. As of this writing, I haven't yet INSTALLED SP1. I'm
still reading comments about issues before I let SP1 load.

Hi Dave - yes I meant you. I'm a bit puzzled - how did Sabian manage
even to download SP1 without the UPEK upgrade (unless... it is the full
version, not the Windows Update release.). Hmm..

As i mentioned, I upgraded to the latest UPEK device driver from the UPEK
website (1.9.2.111). I did use the stand alone SP1 upgrade as it still
wasnt offered (possibly due to the Sigmatel driver on my laptop). I still
cannot do the single-swipe login to Windows.. I emailed Protector Suite QL
support to see if this is a known issue
