I have a windows XP machine with SP 2 (had it since it came out) and
all the sudden as of today it won't boot, but get's stuck in a loop
(Windows logo with moving bars at the bottom, then back to the DOS
looking screen). If I use F8 to choose Safe Mode, the same thing
happens. When I choose Turn Off Automatic restart on Error, then I get
a blue screen that says:
STOP: c0000135 {Unable to Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found.
Re-installing
the application may fix this problem.
There is a page on the MS support site about this, and it says to
choose Turn Off Auto Restart then boot again and do one of several
things (remove some T.V. software, or SP2 or something else). But I
can't get that far. I can't get it to boot into windows no matter what.
What are my options here. I've tried every method, Safe mode, With
Netowking, With Command Prompt, nothing will get me into it.
