stop outlook from popping up

how can I stop outlook and word popping up when I am using other applications?
 
This is an Access newsgroup. We help answer technical questions related to
the database application, Microsoft Access.

If you have a question related to Outlook, you'd probably to better to post
to a newsgroup containing the word "outlook".
