Dear Sir/Madam

I have just upgraded my pc by upgrading my memory RAM from 256 MB to
512MB.

Because the 2, PC133’s that were installed were in conflict with my
original PC133, 256MB, I settled for 2 new 256MB PC133’s that were
compatible with my motherboard being installed.

Already I have had the same error three times.

It is called a Windows stop error. An error message on a blue screen.
Each time I have had to restart my pc.

Cause unknown device driver. [This is the same driver that has been
installed on my pc for the last 4 years.]

It stated: " You received this message because a device driver
installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop
unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error". A
stop error requires you to restart your computer."

Windows help stated:
SYMPTOMS
After you install a new hardware device or new software, your computer
may start to restart spontaneously, or you may receive error messages
on a blue screen.
CAUSE
A device driver that is not correct for the version of Windows on which
you installed it typically causes this behavior. Or, the device driver
may have been poorly written, which can cause Windows to stop working
correctly.

How do I solve this problem please?

Please post an exact copy of the Stop Error Report. We cannot
help without reliable information as to the cause.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click
on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties,
Advanced, StartUp and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck
box before Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties.
Hardware, Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Can you post copies of relevant reports from Event Viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information
about your computer:
Everest Home Edition (freeware)
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight
required text, right click and select copy. However, whilst this
is fine for posting small amounts of information into newsgroup
messages longer reports will irritate other newsgroup
subscribers.

It will give you details of your motherboard and BIOS.
