Hi - can anyone help with this error message? I have Windows XP Pro. I've
installed "Partition Commander" to resize the partition and installed "Norton
SystemWorks 2000" and ran the one stop check to make sure everything works
OK. Overnight, my system reboot and ever since I couldn't restart Windows.
I can run Windows in safemode only. Above is the error I received. Any help
in understanding the cause and especially, the fix would be most appreciated.

Why did you install "Norton SystemWorks 2000" ? You can get better up
to date freeware alternatives.

How much RAM does the computer have and what is the CPU?

Hope this helps.

The meaning of this bit "and 64MB RAM" eludes me?

Answers to the other question?

I take it you haven't resized the partition yet? Since you can get into Safe
Mode, try uninstalling both Partition Commander and Norton SystemWorks. If
Partition Commander is an old version, I wouldn't reinstall it. Definitely
do *not* reinstall SystemWorks.

If you can't uninstall those programs in Safe Mode (some uninstallers will
only work in Regular Mode), then from Safe Mode do a System Restore to
before you installed both those programs.

Hi Gerry - sorry, 64MB RAM. I installed Norton SystemWorks 2000 trying to
clean up the PC. Thank you for your continued support :)

You only have 64 mb RAM not 512 mb RAM. That would probably cause
problems!

What is the computer make and model? When was it purchased new?

I would try removing Norton SystemWorks 2000 if you can? Norton products
are notoriously difficult to remove , especially those from this time.

Would reformatting and a new clean install of Windows XP be an easier
option?

How far did you get with installing Windows XP updates?

I have a PC with Intel 4 processors, 2.53 GHz, 512MB RAM and 64MB RAM

We all know what 512MB RAM means. But what is the context of "and 64MB
RAM"?

Also, I'm pretty sure you meant processor without the "s"! Or do you
have two? (XP Pro *does* support two CPUs...)
