stop error........acpi.sys.......please help

hi,
win2k freezes with a blue screen (of death. details follow.

***ADDRESS BFFDD285 base at DFFD8000,Date Stamp 39f74994
ACPI.SYS
..........
can anyone help me to solve this stop error?

Reboot in Safe Mode, then rename acpi.sys. You may have
to re-install the installation that uses this driver.
