Stop 0x00000050 ACPI.SYS

Hi all,

I have a serious startup pb on my PC running XP home SP2.
I keep getting this error message, whatever starting mode i choose (safe,
safe with prompt, last know config OK, etc...):

"DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
"STOP: 0x000000D1" associated with ACPI.SYS driver, adress base at F99E2000.
I cannot even try a repair through my bootable CD, the installation
procedure starting normally then stopping with the same blue screen.

When i was still able to start windows i also got another msg dealing with
ACPI.SYS and "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA stop 0x00000050".
My girlfriend told me she might have switched off the PC before the system
had completed its shutdown. So i wonder if it could be a RAM or BIOS flash
damage...
I have been on aumha's site, but was not able to find useful information for
that specific case. If anyone had any suggestion, i would appreciate!
Thx in advance for your help.

Well,

Found the source of my troubles by myself...Ran a windows memory diag and
isolated 1 defective module by swapping them together. Now just have to find
an old PC133 DRAM (...) to replace the burnt one.
