Stop erro Ox0000007B

I run windows 2000 on a pentilium II 266 machine used by
my daughter. Recently, I was udpdated the softw are from
the microsoft website. I now have a blue scree with a
stop error. I can't get rid of the stop error and I can't
run virus scan, as it tells me to do. Tried running in
safe mode and it won't do that. How do I get rid of the
stop error and check for virus?

Do you have an Emergency Repair Disk? If not you may be stuck having to
reinstall or do an inplace upgrade, if the ERD is out of date you may
still have to reinstall.
