Stop Error 0x0000007B

my computer uses windows 2000 and i am trying to trouble
shoot a stop error... i am skeptical to whether or not the
problem i have is a true stop error or possibly a false
image of a virus. when i start my computer it will not go
into windowa. it goes straight to a blue screen at start-
up and it reads:

STOP: 0x0000007b
(0xf242384c,0xc0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
Inaccessible_Boot_Device



please help me out... i have tried running it in safe
mode.. vga mode.. all of the modes my computer offers...
