STOP:C000021a Process System Process Terminated

Exactly after 10 minutes my Windows/XP PRO P4 3.2ghz system gets a blue
screen with the message STOP:C000021a Process System Process Terminated
Unexpectedly. I removed the last application I installed (SpyDoctor) and
cleaned
the registry but the problem continues. I've read posts on the internet
about most STOP 0xC000021A errors occurring because Winlogon.exe fails
because of a faulty third-party Graphical Identification and Authentication
(GINA) DLL or Msginadll.

Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks, Bob

Look in the logs in Event Viewer to see if anything is recorded there that
may provide a clue and ask yourself if anything has been done to hardware,
driver, software, or updates that seem to correspond to the problem. Also
try booting into Safe Mode to see if it still happens. If it does not then
that could indicate some startup process is triggering it to happen and you
could use msconfig in selective mode to try and troubleshoot. Using Task
Manager to monitor cpu and memory usage might also be helpful in case you
have a memory leak, etc.

It might be a hardware problem but hardware problems are usually a bit more
random in nature however it would be a good idea to make sure your CPU fan
is clean and working. There are programs like the free version of Everest
that can monitor CPU fan speed and temperature and in general is a really
cool program to have on your computer. Of course a full system scan for
malware should be done using the latest virus definitions for your anti
virus software and also getting a second opinion with something like Trend
Micro Sysclean which is free and does not need to be installed as an
application. --- Steve
