fatal system error and dvd drive not reconising dvd but will cd-ro

having trouble with dvd drive will not reconise there is a pc cd dvd rom in
or a dvd film yet will run a pc cd and an audio cd also while playing a game
suddenly game gone completely blue screen with following error message altho
pc has restarted with no obvious probs [except dvd drive!] message was
stop:c000021a {fatal system error} the windows subsystem system process
terminated unexpectedly with a status of oxcoooooo5[ox75eacf49 0x0069e920]
the system has been shut down
