I am getting this error message when re-booting and nothing I've tried has
worked. I attempted to go to the recovery console, but was unable to. I've
tried all of the F8 options and all were unsuccessful. I also attempted to
start from the CD/DVD drive because I have the original XP disc, but
unfortunately my computer wasn't configured to do so, so this didn't work
either. I am literally "stuck" on the blue error screen so any help you can
offer me would be greatly appreciated.

You can configure your computer to boot from the CD drive first. To do this
you must enter the BIOS or SETUP screen.

Turn on the computer and tap repeatedly on the special key on your keyboard
that gives access to the BIOS / Setup screen. This is usually either the DEL
(Delete) key or the F2 key.

In the BIOS / Setup menu use the arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight
Advanced BIOS Options (or similar). There you should be able to arrow down to
the line First Boot Device and change it to CD-ROM (or similar).

Then press the ESC (Escape) key to return to the main menu page.

Then use the arrow keys to navigate to SAVE AND EXIT.

Make sure you have your Windows install CD loaded into the CD drive. Then
press the Enter/Return key and confirm Yes /OK.

The computer will restart. Watch the screen for the message "Press any key
to boot from CD" and press a key on your keyboard.
