Stop 0x51 ( REGISTRY_ERROR)on an XP Home OEM unit

Stop 0x51 ( REGISTRY_ERROR) blue screen has appeared on
an OEM XP Home Dell workstation. The KB artcle I have
only relates this as a Windows 2000 Pro error resolved
with SP4.

Anybody seen this in an XP unit?

I have this problem too on a friend's PC, also a Dell
(Dimension 4550) running Windows XP Home Version. I get
that error when booting in normal mode, safe mode, when
trying to do a Repair Installation with the Windows XP
setup disk, and even when trying to re-install Windows
XP. I ran Dell's Diagnostic tools (from it's own bootable
disk) and all hardware checked out fine, so I assume it's
one or more corrupted drivers or system files or
something....but how can I find out which one(s) and how
can I fix them? Anybody's help would be much
appreciated! Thanks.
