STOP 0x51 on boot

Windows XP system won't boot; continuously cycles
to "Windows did not load properly" screen, tries again in
30 seconds, repeat. Boot from CD supplied with computer
(Dell 4300) into repair utility. Got to step where I
select Windows installation to log onto (only one, at
C:\Windows) and go to blue screen STOP 0x51 REGISTRY
ERROR. Have just spent a week or so removing viruses
(brand new copy of Norton 2005) and adware (Spybot) from
this system.

Am willing to wipe drive and reinstall Windows & software
if I can get far enough to do so.

Help?

Thanks - checked that out but my problem is a little more
basic. Repair/Recovery console from Window's Boot CD
fails at attempt to log onto Windows partition; any
attempt to access hard drive results in this STOP. Think
I need an independent means of wiping hard drive.

I've got the same problem since a few days, can't imagine where it'
comin from. Was just playing a pc game, then it suddenly stopped. Afte
I wants to restart my system a blue screen occurs with Error Message

REGISTRY_ERROR
*** STOP: 0x51 (0x03,0x03,0x00,0xE1A7E000)

I have read many threads and googled all around, but haven't foun
anything I consider to do.

Does anybody have a possibility to recover the registry, that my O
will boot without problems again. (Installed Programs don't have t
work, only the OS should start up) Remember I can't access my files/O
over the Windows Recovery Console, because the blue screen also occur
there.

I have thought about checking my HDD/Partition with chkdsk or recove
the registry files from Windows/repair dir, but I don't know how to ge
full access to my files at my NTFS-Partition.

If somebody could tell me something like, how to get full access to m
files,I think it might help me so far.

All right, thanks for all replys so far
