Stop 0x44

I cannot boot my HP notebook running Windows XP Home Edition and receive the
message "Stop:0x00000044 Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests". It won't boot in
any mode - Safe, Command Prompt, Last Known Good Boot, etc. I only have
Restore CD's with the notebook, no Windows XP start up CD or Emergency Repair
CD. What should I do?
