Stop: 0x0000008E Physical memory dump

Everytime I try to install the latest 2 Microsoft updates (KB922582 and
KB890830) the system gets this error :
Blue screen, Stop: 0x0000008E Physical Memory dump error message.
Is this because of memory or another issue?
Thanks for any help

Hi Tony,

What chipset are you using?

I am getting the same problem with the same patches. I have tried
downloading the patches and running them with the /o switch. Doesn't
work. These updates install without a problem on any other system.

The PC that is giving me the problem has a NVidia chipset running an
AMD processor and this might be the problem according to others
experiencing the same thing. I am going to try to download the latest
drivers and see if that solves the problem. For now I have stopped
automatic updates.

If anyone has any information to share I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I have not found a solution to the problem so I did the only thing that
usually works. I got all the latest drivers, formatted, re-installed
windows and installed SP2 in safe mode, then installed the drivers and
all updates installed without a problem.
