Still Can't get some software to install

Tried What Was Recomended deleting the temp files, etc,
etc, Didn't fix the problem
I can't install Adobe premiere 6.5, age of empires2, and a
bunch of other software,
I can how-ever install dialo2, age of mythology,
com cast internet utilities and a few other software
titles, Oh i also tied a upgrade reinstall of xp it did
not fix the problem. PLEASE HELP

Not sure what advise you received before, but have you tried cleaning the CD
that sometimes helps.

Didn't see your previous post, so I might be asking an obvious question that
someone else asked... but when trying to install software, are you logged on
under an administrator account? Also, is it only CD installs that are giving
you problems, or do you also have problems installing from downloaded zipped
programs? The reason I ask is that my system came new from Dell with a bad
CD drive. I later found out that a lot of people had the same problem, and
that Dell was replacing the problem drives for those who complained.

Also, is the CD drive a CD/RW? The copyright protection in some programs
released over the past few years (I think Age of Empires II was one of them)
won't allow you to use CD/RW drives from certain companies (Plextor was one
I remember offhand). If this is a known problem with a software package,
then there should be a reference to it in the readme.txt files.
