still cant access or see workgroup

finally geeting ping to work on both computers have
netbio on and firewalls off im not even trying to shaare
internet connect still access denied might not have admin
perm

Operating systems?
Router yes or no?
Shares setup yes or no?
Can you ping the other unit (both ways) ?
The more info the better when doing these post.
