Status Bar / Task Bar Dilemma

I am using Windows 98SE and IE 6.0. When I activate IE,
the IE status bar displaces the desktop task bar. Any
way to correct that? Any way to add items to the status
bar such as a real time clock? It would be nice to have
the current time visible while running IE (better yet,
have both bars visible!). Thanks!

It sounds like you've turned off the option to have your
task bar always on top, OR that you've set your task bar
to minimize. Either one will give you the result you've
suggested you are getting.

By default, you will get your wish - to have the status
bar in IE show as well as your task bar. However, there
are options (which I turn on) to get what you now have.

My suggestion is to right-click on your Task bar, choose
properties, and find the one that talks about always
being on top, as well as the one about minimizing it.
I'm not running Win98 currently, so forgive my
generalizations. However, if you set the task bar to
always show, and always be on top, baring a bug (MS NEVER
has bugs!!), you should be fine! :)

Good luck!
