Status Bar in Windows Mail

Teresa

Forgive me if this question has already been posted elsewhere, but I can't
scroll through 9,733 posts to find it.

I subscribe to a stationery group within my Vista windows mail. Often they
have in their newsgroup post a "message ticker" that runs a message across
the status bar like "have a great day". Windows Mail's 'status bar' only
displays how many messages I have, how many messages are unread and how many
messages not downloaded. How do I get my status bar to display the poster's
message ticker when I open their stationery post that is using a message
ticker? Thanks for any help.

Thank you for your reply. No worries now, it has been fixed.
And yes, my status bar at the very bottom of my windows mail screen does
show what I've told you it displays.

Thanks anyway!

If you use the advanced search function - there is nowhere
near 9,733 posts.

There is only one status bar in Windows Mail.
WM->View->Layout-> put a check mark for Status Bar
I have never ever seen the status bar display how many
messages are read or unread. If yours does, then I have
no solution for you.

You probably needed to put WinMail in the Internet zone, as the status bar
is scripted and that requires you to be in the Internet zone.

Thank you for your help, Steve. I received help from Cynthia B. in our MPS
newsgroup.
IE7's Tools/Security/Internet Zone/Custom Level/enabling to allow
script-initiated window without size or position constraint AND enabling
allow status bar updates via script. Now I can easily see when a poster has
a message ticker running at the bottom of their stationeries. And I can
also see at the very bottom of my screen in Windows Mail that a view is
applied, I have 12 messages and 9 are unread.

Thanks again, Steve!

Yes I think the message was confusing. You probably would have been able to
help better if the problem / question was more clear. The quality of answers
usually are determined by the quality of the question.

Actually I knew exactly what she was talking about. Anyone who had used
scripting in stationery would have also.

Not very many people know that though.

Thank you, Steve. :) I thought I was explaining my question correctly
short of sending in screenshots, lol. ;-)
