Static ip address

My computer is continually becoming stuck on a static ip address and I have
had to reload the pc back to factory settings to alleviate this problem, this
has happened 5 times in the last week and I am not sure why this is
happening. If anyone could give me any advice on how to stop this happening
I would appreciate it very much, thanking you in advance.

Please explain your problem such that it is intelligent.

Stuck on an IP.......?

Your IP is being 'altered' to become static? or
You are browsing to a page and that page's IP is made static and you cannot
navigate away?

What browser?
What internet access type?
etc.

More information = better response = more probabilty of solving the problem
= HAPPINESS.

Sorry for not having more information in my original post, not really that
great with things like this.
My ip is being altered to a static ip and not allowing me access to the
internet, I am using internet explorer but not sure which version, and I have
a broadband connection through an ethernet card. Is this more helpful? If
not let me know what other information you require and I will try to post it,
like I said Im not really that good with this type of thing.
